1: Most pointless thing in your purse?
A compact mirror. It's heavy, so it weighs me down, yet I never remember that I have it, so I never use it--and as a result, am always shocked to discover too late that my mascara has smeared everywhere, giving me an unintentional, unflattering gothy look.

2: Thing you most regret having lost?
Some of my mother's antique silver pieces, which I accidentally left in an apartment that I moved from. I've never told her, but I think she's figured it out. Oh, also a skirt. It had the most fabulous retro "pinup cowgirl" print on it. I left it in a hotel room after a vacation, and I hadn't even worn it there, grrr.

3: Most underrated holiday?
Flag Day!

4: Garden or power tool with which you have had the worst experience?
I'm not at all mechanical, and all I have is a little terrace garden, so all I've ever used is a trowel and I can't say it's ever been a bad thing!

5: Describe your idea of the ultimate stack of pancakes:
They would be made by my mom or me. They would be oatmeal pancakes made with buttermilk. They are wonderful and I like making them for hungry people.
