Bob Staake is an internationally regarded illustrator, children's book author and designer. His clients include The New Yorker, The Washington Post, TIME, The Los Angeles Times, The New York Times, Cartoon Network, Fortune, The Chicago Tribune, Hallmark Cards, MTV/Nickelodeon, and countless others. His Obama victory New Yorker cover entitled 'Reflection' was named by TIME as the 'Best Magazine Cover of 2008'. It is also the Most Popular New Yorker Cover according to the magazine's publisher, Conde Nast. Mr. Staake is the author and/or illustrator of over 46 books, most picture books for children, including The Red Lemon (Random House), Hello Robots! (Viking), The Donut Chef (Random House), This Is Not A Pumpkin (Simon and Schuster) and Pets Go Pop (Little Brown). The American Library Association recently remarked that "Staake's (picture books) are notable for the sophistication of their graphic design" and his titles are known for their elaborate, often geometric, endpapers. Mr. Staake lives and works in Chatham, Massachusetts on the elbow of Cape Cod.

Kristen Held has long been an aficionado of both vintage and contemporary book endpapers. After graduating from DePaul University with her BA in English, Ms. Held performed in various creative capacities for Herman Miller furniture, McCann Erickson and Campbell Ewald, among other firms. She resides in Chicago where she has worked as an advertising tv/radio/print buyer, para-legal and literary event consultant for the Newberry Library. Ms. Held counts among her hobbies architectural photography, interior design and Mid-Century Modern furnishings.
