The NEW Look of BobStaake.com
Untitled Document

The year was 1995.

The iPod had yet to be dreamed up, the Boston Red Sox hadn't won the World Series in 100 years and no one had even heard of a product called Viagra.

It was also the year when people started logging on this thing called the "internet" to post their "web sites".

"To be honest", says Staake, "my initial reaction to the internet was that nobody would use it because I couldn't imagine people sitting still to read text on a monitor screen. Some Nostradamus, huh?"

In 1995, Bob Staake became one of the first illustrators in the world to post an extensive personal web site, and in many way he was a pioneer of the media. The site was crude by today's standards, but quite elaborate in 1995, and it established Bob as a high profile creator within the new media.

BobStaake.com has only undergone one major redesign (in 2003) -- until today (July 2007).

The all-new BobStaake.com sports a much cleaner design, streamlined content and a more user-friendly manner in which to view what you're here to see: Bob's art and illustrations.

We hope you enjoy the fresh look and spread the word about the all-new BobStaake.com.

Horrific Beginnings:

The original BobStaake.com 1.0 circa 1995 (below). The goal was to create a home page three inches taller than Shaquille O'Neal.

In BobStaake.com 2.0 (2003-2007), this goal was realized (right) with a home page a whopping 54 vertical inches. This explains why the site has historically been unpopular with people who suffer from a fear of heights.
